Eleanor Parker and Robert Taylor starred in three movies together in the 1950s: Above and Beyond (1952), Valley of the Kings (1954), and Many Rivers to Cross (1955). Below, we’ve ranked these three collaborations from worst to best — because there is clearly a best!

Eleanor Parker and Robert Taylor Movie Collaborations, Ranked

3. Valley of the Kings (1954)

Genre: Adventure

Starring: Robert Taylor, Eleanor Parker, Carlos Thompson, Kurt Kasznar

Directed by: Robert Pirosh

2nd Parker-Taylor Movie Ever Made

Up first at #3, we’ve got Valley of the Kings, the second movie Eleanor Parker and Robert Taylor starred in together. Now, some may quite like this movie. It’s not the worst movie ever made. But it’s also not the best ever made, either!

Valley of the Kings follows an archeologist (Taylor) who decides to help his mentor’s daughter (Parker) uncover the tomb of a Pharoah in Egypt. However, along the way, they clash with graverobbers!

2. Many Rivers to Cross (1955)

Genre: Western / Romance / Comedy

Starring: Robert Taylor, Eleanor Parker, Victor McLaglen, Jeff Richards

Directed by: Roy Rowland

3rd (and Last!) Parker-Taylor Movie Ever Made

Many Rivers to Cross was the last movie Eleanor Parker and Robert Taylor ever made together. Much as with Valley of the Kings, Many Rivers to Cross is by no means the best movie these two ever made. But if you like both of them — and if you especially like to watch both of them on screen together — then this movie is worth a watch!

In Many Rivers to Cross, a headstrong pioneer woman (Parker) sets her sights on a frontiersman (Taylor) and is determined to marry him. He, however, has other ideas and doesn’t want to be tied down. When the two face hostile Native Americans, they must put aside their differences to get them out of danger!

1. Above and Beyond (1952)

Genre: Biography / Action / Drama

Starring: Robert Taylor, Eleanor Parker, James Whitmore, Larry Keating

Directed by: Melvin Frank, Norman Panama

1st Parker-Taylor Movie Ever Made

Above and Beyond is the best movie Eleanor Parker and Robert Taylor ever made together, without a doubt. And, unlike the other two movies on this list, this drama is truly a great movie! It’s often considered one of the best movies the two made during this decade!

In Above and Beyond, Taylor plays the pilot who dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, while Parker plays his understanding wife. Drama unfolds as he tries to adjust to his new life — and his new place in history. A great film to watch!
